Support to the AAP Foundation

AAP Linda has been part of the Amolé family since January 1, 2020!

The AAP Foundation has existed for a very long time. Started in Amstelveen in the 1960s by Okko and Riga Reussien who took care of their first monkey in their own home. Established to raise funds. In 1996, the AAP Foundation moved to Almere because a larger location was needed for the shelter.

The owner of Amolé, Mariëtte Bos, used to live in Amstelveen and has occasionally been involved with the AAP foundation. The affinity has ensured Amolé's support for the AAP foundation. Many exotic animals do not lead animal-worthy lives. Due to illegal trade, private individuals without knowledge of owning monkeys and exploitation (lions, bears, monkeys) in the event business, many animals have been severely neglected and abused. At the AAP Foundation there is professional care. The goal is to get the animals healthy and resocialize them so that they can be rehomed at a suitable address. Renowned zoos regularly prove to be good homes for relocated animals.

Amolé finds the work that is done very important and that is why Amolé supports the AAP Foundation with a monthly contribution. In addition, two tablets have been donated that are used to study animal behavior.

Linda has been 'adopted' as of January 1, 2020. Chimpanzee lady Linda was taken from her mother as a baby and smuggled to Spain. There she had to take a picture with high-paying tourists wearing constricting clothes. When Linda grew up and started to protest, she was locked in a small shed. After years of loneliness, she ended up at the AAP Foundation, where, as a social animal, she can enjoy life with others of her kind.

Support for the 'senior bus' Haarlemmermeer

The purpose of the senior bus is to remove the elderly from their isolation and promote mobility.

You can use the bus for all destinations within Haarlemmermeer North, such as: a visit with a medical, sporting, social and/or cultural destination, a visit to our association building at the Beemsterstaat, a visit to family, friends, shops, government institutions, etc. This is possible for a reasonable rate.

And importantly, the bus runs from door to door!

Now the old bus has broken down and the association was looking for sponsors for a new means of transport. Amolé has decided to participate. Our advertising is on the back of the Mercedes Benz Sprinter above the windows. It gives a good feeling that Amolé can contribute to the mobility of the elderly so that they can continue to participate in society.

Support the hedgehog shelter in Haarlem

Hedgehog V. is doing well considering the circumstances!

Mariëtte, one of the owners of Amolé, had recently found a hedgehog lying on her doorstep. The hedgehog didn't really look alive and that's why Mariëtte called the hedgehog shelter to ask 'what to do with the hedgehog?'. Linda, the volunteer who takes care of hedgehogs, indicated that if the hedgehog actually unfortunately died, it could be buried somewhere. In that capacity, Mariëtte wanted to give the hedgehog a nice place to rest and prepared to bury the hedgehog. But to her shock and relief, the hedgehog suddenly moved! Fortunately, he did not die, but probably very dehydrated. Mariëtte then took the hedgehog to the shelter, where the hedgehog received several injections of painkillers. And with a happy ending, because the hedgehog survived and was released in Aerdenhout!

After this experience, Mariëtte decided to make a monthly financial contribution to the hedgehog shelter from Amolé. The collection and care of the hedgehogs is done by volunteers and could therefore use some financial help. We think it's a great idea that there are volunteers who can patch up these animals and release them back into nature as soon as they have recovered, which we have also helped a little financially!

Support the food bank

It sounds a bit strange, support 'food' bank because we as team Amolé do not support the food bank with food.

Amolé contributes to the food bank in her own way. We do not do this by supporting with food, but with menstrual products.

It is an unprecedented problem: young girls who do not dare to go to school because of the shame and the red spots on their pants. Poor families often cannot buy menstrual products because they are very expensive, which means the girls stay at home.

That is why we donate menstrual products, to prevent these young girls from missing out on so much every month. We hope that through this contribution they can simply go to school. The Hoofddorp food bank is happy with all donations and we also received a personal thank you for our monthly contribution. It's very welcome!
